What is Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) or Microneedling?

Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), also known as microneedling, is a minimally-invasive non-surgical skin rejuvenation procedure designed to improve the appearance of: fine lines, wrinkles, skin texture, firmness, hyper-pigmentation, age spots, acne scars, stretch marks and hair loss. Collagen Induction Therapy leads to improved volume, resiliency and healthier more youthful looking skin.

What is the Procedure?

Collagen Inductuction Therapy involves the use of a micro-needling device. The needles are used to gently puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury. Basically tricking your skin into producing new collagen and elastin. Because the epidermis remains intact, the procedure can be repeated safely and is also suited to regions where laser treatments and deep peels are not typically performed. The results speak for themselves.

Who is a candidate for Microneedling?

Anybody that wants to improve their skin is an excellent candidate for this procedure. Microneedling is safe and effective for all skin colors and types.

Topical anesthetic cream is used to keep the patient comfortable during the procedure. Patients should be advised that multiple treatments may be necessary to achieve the desired results. The number of needling sessions depends on the individual skin condition. Three or four treatments may be recommended for mild to moderate acne scarring, whereas deeper scars and stretch marks may require upward of five treatments. An interval of 4 to 6 weeks between treatments is typically recommended.

Can it be customized to my specific issues?
